Introduction
The "Cinderella Farm Story"
Read more @ www.coulleedream.com
Arthur Thompson and his five brothers settled on a small plot of land in 1909.
They built a small homestead and the five of them lived in it for one winter.
The building still stands today and is a historical landmark on the Thompson farm.
Arthur's youngest son Gerald married Mildread Richards and took over the farm in 1952.
Gerald and Mildred had six "lovely" children that helped out on the farm as much as they could.
The kids helped out on the farm while in school and later went on to pursue other ventures.
Gerald would have farmed until the day he died, and was planning on it.
His stroke in 2002 put him in the hospital and put an end to his farming career.
Gerald had built a nice operation in his 50 year reign of the farm.
His son Laurie has been running the operation since, and is still a Massage Therapist in the meantime.
I, Stephen Thompson am Laurie's youngest son and 4th generation farmer.

The farm is in pretty rough shape these days and is in dire need of some TLC.
Our Plan for the farm is to create the cinderella farm story, and turn it around.
Our vision is to have:
A 100% organic, self sustanaible, therapy farm that runs on renewable energy sources.
To live a simple holistic lifestyle and function as a harmonious community. We would give our strengths to one another for the betterment of the community farm. Maybe you have the gift of touch, possibly the gift of communication, or maybe the gift of motivation.

The farm is/would operate as an "organic" operation in every sense of the word.
Sitting on the edge of the Coullee Hills you can get a sense of the native plants/animals that have been mostly "untouched" by man.
Deer roam the yard quite frequently and other wildlife is nearvy in their abodes.
Native encampments still vaguely remain, teeppee rings, carins, and even soltice measurements are camped out in the backyard.
You can almost feel the "lingering spirit of the natives,
The view is wonderful and the atmosphere is extremely peaceful.
We are working towards providing a great experience and way of life that has been mostly forgotten.
Right now I am searching for likeminded people to aid me in developing this dream.
We would be living a simple holistic lifestyle and diminishing our carbon footprint.
Living in peace and harmony with each other.
The farm is more than a little "rough around the edges right now"
and we are seeking help to turn that around.

The Farmhouse has 6 bedrooms, 5 of which need re-modelling. Also, a guesthouse is only 200 ft away, and I am currentlyt looking at getting some teeppees set-up as well.
The natives were a simple people like in the movie avatar, and I think it would be neat to get back to that simplicity.
We will give you room and board in exchange for your strengths, whatever they might be.

Another plan for the future is to also develop it into a "therapy" farm.
To "heal" people through all of the natural methods.
Touch, nutrition, and health supplementation.
We would be learning about all of the "natural" methods to diagnose, and treat each other through the methods learned.

This dream is still in the infant stage and would benefit from some hardworking, caring people.
Many hands make like work, and I only have two hands.

Also, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, well... Me too.
We have alot of musical talent in and around the farm, and also have a passion for the creative arts.
There are members in the town that would potentially teach you whatever skill you would like to learn. Whether it be blacksmithing, painting, pottery, hunting, horseback riding, canning, sewing, drumming, etc...

We are also cereal/forage producers, run a nice garden, beekeep, and have access to hunting and fishing.
We would like to acquire some animals as well, but right now we don't have enough man power to care for them.
There is more than enough ways to occupy your time out here, and you shouldn't even tell me your bored. (make mental note)

I have heard but say "Whats in Saskatchewan?"
I would answer "What's not in Saskatchewan."

The Sky is the limit and our skies or limitless.

Saskatchewan has many events and opportunities to offer and I am not responsible if you fall in love with anything during your stay.
There is a three day Cowboy Trail ride starting from the farm going to the city of Kindersley in the middle of July.
There is several centenial celebrations happening, and we could take tours to some of the cool events taking place.

There are other ideas I would like to implement on the farm as well, some of them include:
A Spa - Complete with a mineral pool
A Party barn
Motorcycle Manufacturing Plant

Value Chain Iniatives
Growers CO-OPS
Among others...

In the future I would like to have a chemistry farm. A place for a natural "mate" selection.
To select a mate based on "scent chemistry" and not just looks.

We still need a name for the farm itself

Donators will also be greatly appreciated if you believe in what we are doing and would like to help.
Your Donations would be greatly appreciated.
If enough money is donated we could send our grain crop over to less fortunate people(s) over seas.
We could personally take it over there and make sure the aid gets to whom it is meant for.
